Dressed by Grandpa
Gotta love the fact that Grandpa Randy and Grandma Jill are here to save the day in the mornings. Grandpa and sometimes Grandma show up to our house bright and early in the morning.....6:15am to be exact to entertain and keep an eye on Madison while i am still at work. I usually return around 8:30am where I quickly feed Maddie then head to bed myself for a couple of hours. This afternoon when I woke up, much to my surprise, Grandpa Randy had picked out the above outfit for Madison. Not quite the outfit we would have picked out for her for the day. Madison, however, did not seem to mind the various array of non-matching colors she was wearing. LOL. Definitely do not see a fashion stylist in his retired future. Nice try anyways Grandpa!!! :-)

Maddie and her buddies
Maddie has so many friends already. One of her newest best friends is her toy Sophie the Giraffe. It's a great toy and for those of you that have never heard of it, I would highly recommend it. Not only is it cute, but it great for sensory development. It stimulates many of baby's senses - sight (by the contrasting spots), hearing (by the squeaker), taste (by being very flexible and having lots of parts to chew on), touch (by having many parts for baby to hold on to and grip).
Yesterday we had a play date with my friend tracy and her son Lucas. Lucas is one month older than Maddie. Seems as though we need to plan more play dates for the future. Madison definitely showed her pouty lip a little too often as she seemed to cry every time Lucas would make a sound. Guess she is too used to being the little princess. LOL.

Happy 3 Month Birthday, Maddie!
Can you believe she is already three months old?!?! We certainly feel like it was just yesterday that we were meeting little Maddie Rose for the first time. Madison continues to amaze us every day with her cuteness and new developments. :-) We honestly think she is the cutest baby in the universe! LOL.
Over the last few weeks she has been working on perfecting her hand-eye coordination - reaching for the toys that dangle down from her activity gym, figuring out that her feet are attached to her body, and checking out her clothing. She is also getting sooooo close to turning over from her tummy to her back. She has done it twice, by mere accident, and really surprised herself when she did. Looking forward to more firsts as she continues on in meeting her developmental milestones. At a recent appointment on October 15th Madison weighed 10 lbs 5.4 oz. Still our little peanut, but getting bigger and bigger every day!
Unfortunately I had to return to work last week. By the sounds of it, Madison did better than I did. I cried most of the day as I attempted to prepare myself for leaving her. When it came time to leave the tears were impossible to hide. Maddie actually seemed to find my leaving quite comical as she laughed out loud as I was saying my goodbyes. I know that she is in good hands with her daddy and grandma and grandpa while I am away, but it was still extremely tough.
Yesterday we had a fun evening at Spooner Farms Pumpkin Patch with Grandma Jill and Grandpa Randy. Maddie was happier being held by daddy than she was riding with the pumpkins in the wheelbarrow. Can't wait to celebrate more holidays with our beautiful baby girl.

Playtime....in the PJs
Maddie is totally a morning girl. She always wakes up with lots of smiles and coos to give. Lately she has been REALLY interested in the toys hanging down from her activity gym. She can stare at them very contently all the while moving, talking and shaking about. We just can't believe she is 11 and a half weeks. Mommy is definitely not looking forward to going back to work on Monday. If only money grew on trees!

2-month Check-up
Two Months:
Weight: 9 lbs. 13.5oz (10-25th percentile)
Length: 24 inches (90th percentile)
Head circumference: 15 inches (25th percentile)
Today we had Madison's two month well child check-up . I know, I know we are a little off on our dates, considering she is 11 weeks today. We were a bit nervous as to how she might handle getting her four vaccinations - all combined into two shots and one oral. Our little girl is such a trooper. Probably harder on mommy than on Maddie. Grandma Jill came for extra support! Madison handled her shot like a trooper and she actually really enjoyed the oral vaccine. LOL. She only cried for a few seconds right after the shots and was content as soon as mommy scooped her up!
Maddie is a growing girl, although still long and lean. She is right on her developmental markers. She tracks people as they move from one side of her to the other. She is continuing to take great interest in her hands - often making it difficult to get a good picture of her without her hand in her mouth. :-) She is gaining more and more strength in her neck - thanks to the wonderful "tummy time" that she is only fond of for two minutes or so. And maybe she is beginning to get a little bit of stranger anxiety. We found it funny that she was kicking around all smiley just prior to the doctor coming in to examine her. Dr. Roscoe started talking to her and she began pouting and crying. LOL. Very interesting how she is noticing different and unfamiliar people at this age already.

Kimber's wedding
I needed to post a few photos from Kimber's wedding since we dressed up Madison in a pretty "cupcake" dress. She's just our little sweet thing.

She's a great traveler!
Daddy and Maddie waiting so patiently to get on our plane. Isn't she a spitting image of her daddy?? I just can't get over it!
So we just returned from our trip to Utah to celebrate my best friend Kimber's wedding. We have to be honest that we were a little worried as to how Madison would handle the flight as well as being away from me for longer periods of time. She did absolutely AMAZING on her first flight. Not a peep out of her at all. She slept almost the entire time. She did just as well on the flight back. Thank goodness she didn't join in with the chorus of about 4-5 other little ones that were not handling the flight so well.
Since I was the matron of honor (goodness....it sounds so old) I had a lot of duties to help with in the days approaching the wedding. Maddie did just perfect spending lots of quality time with Daddy, grandma, and grandpa! It was definitely weird for me to be away from my little princess for the first time as we had a "Girls Night Out" to celebrate Kimber's "bacheloretteness." :-) It was probably harder on me than it was on her. It was great to know she was in the loving hands of her daddy, grandma, and grandpa. Will she be daddy's little girl???
Tomorrow is her "2 month" well child check-up. I know, I know....looks like we got the dates off a bit as she will be 11 weeks tomorrow. Hoping she tolerates her 4 vaccines without a problem. I will be giving her a little dose of tylenol as well as lots and lots of love.
