Madison's First Snow
It's sooooo crazy to see snow on the ground already?!?! As we speak I am looking out the window to the beautiful snow falling. There's nothing like the beauty and quietness of falling snow flakes. Since it is the first snowfall since Maddie has been born I could not pass up the opportunity to bundle her up and take a few pictures. As usual, it was a bit of a chore to get her to look at the camera. Seems as though she was just too interested in the sea of white on the ground.

4 Months Old Today!
Playing around. She just loves pushing the buttons that play music. Probably because mommy and daddy dance around looking like weirdos!
Our little 4 month old is just getting bigger and bigger every day. Although still petite she seems to be growing like a weed and developing right on track as well. She seems to be putting EVERYTHING in her mouth these days, making it really difficult to get a decent picture of her. :-) Teething maybe? Besides putting anything she can get her hands on into her mouth, she is drooling like crazy and at times showing her fussy side more often than usual. Nothing a little cold teething toy, mommy's finger, and/or oragel can't fix.Maddie continues to sleep really well through the night. She typically goes down for the night between 7:30-8:30pm and wakes up around 6:00am for a feeding. Most mornings she is oh so kind to let mommy get a few hours of sleep and usually wakes up around 8:30-9am.
We are still working on the rolling over bit. She has rolled from her tummy to her back multiple times, but not consistently. Any pointers from those other mommy's out there?!?! Suggestions gladly accepted. :-)
Recently Grandma Jill and Grandpa Randy bought Maddie a bumbo chair. She really seems to like being able to sit up and view the world from a whole different angle. I can't seem to get over how cute she looks sitting in that bright green thing. Not only that but she just looks sooooo grown up sitting upright like a big girl.
Looking forward to her 4 month well-child check up on Nov. 30th. We are always eager to put her on the scale and see how much she has really grown!

She's such a BIG girl!
We can't believe how fast our little baby is growing up! Seems like just yesterday we were coming home from the hospital with her. Now she is almost 4 months old. Playing with all kinds of new toys, rolling over on the occasion, and sleeping in her own room. Boohoo!
Maddie loves lying on the floor playing with her activity gym. She just loves grabbing those toys hanging down above her head....and she is just dying to get them into her mouth. Too bad they just don't hang down low enough. On a number of occasions she has rolled from her tummy to her back during tummy time. She tends to tolerate tummy time okay for a few minutes and just has yet to figure out that she has the ability to roll onto her back if she gets tired of it. Yesterday my mom and I put together her little activity seat. Although she can not yet touch the ground when sitting in it, she thoroughly enjoys all the toys, bright colors, and music it has to offer.
What a transition is was for her to begin sleeping in her own room. Not a tough transition for her at all....but definitely for mommy. I have to admit, I shed a few tears when it came time to putting her into her own room to sleep for the first time on Friday Nov. 5th. Since she has been sleeping through the night since she was 4 weeks old there really was no reason for her to continue sleeping in our room. It was honestly only for mommy's comfort. :-) I am still guilty of bringing her into our room to snuggle with her in the mornings after she has her 6:00am feeding and daddy is off to work. There's no harm in that right?!?! Gotta take advantage of that snuggle time!

Sunday Best
On Sunday October 31st, we took Madison to church for the very first time. I know, I know some of you may be thinking....it's about time. :-) It took us three months to get here there, but we finally did. Maddie did great throughout the entire church service. Only made a few tiny peeps. She enjoyed meeting so many of the new faces that have just been dying to meet her since she was born. We definitely need to make more of a point to show our faces more often as we love seeing our church family so much. Everyone is just so kind and caring and they all really want to see Maddie grow up.
Halloween Festivities.
What a great Halloween 2010! The festivities started out on October 30th with pumpkin carving and caramel apple making at Grandma Jill and Grandpa Randy's house. We had a great time carving our pumpkins complete with a "Maddie Lantern", AJ the kitty, a goofy grin, and a creepy guy. Our first attempt at making caramel apples turned out OK. Seems as though there is definitely a technique. They tasted yummy, but didn't have the professional quality to them. Hehehe. It was a fun experience anyways.
Since you can only put your baby in a pumpkin once, we just had to get some photos of Madison in a jack-o-lantern. She was not too fond on the idea of being stuck inside a slimy, gooey orange thing, but we managed to get a few pictures of her anyways.
On Halloween we headed back to Grandma and Grandpa's house to continue our festivities. We just had to dress Madison up for the occasion. She didn't seem to mind her bumblebee costume. She is just the cutest little bee I have ever seen. We took her to a few of the neighbors houses to show off her cuteness. Can't wait until she can actually say "trick-or-treat." John was definitely excited about the handful of candy that "Maddie" had collected. :-)
After having Maddie's first real holiday, we just can't wait for the holidays to come. Looking forward to continuing on with our family traditions as well as making some of our own as the Pepper Family.
