Our Baby Girl Is Growing Up......8 Months Old!!
8 months old today!! Really?!?! So hard to believe it was 8 months ago today that we were anxiously waiting to meet this little girl. She has been such a delightful baby girl. Word just cannot express how in love we are with our little lady. She continues to amaze us each and everyday with her new found skills and personality. :-) She is sooooo close to crawling! She will get herself up onto her hands and knees, do a couple of movements with her hands in an attempt to reach the object of her desire, then flop onto her tummy as if she gives up. Guess it's time to baby proof the house!
She has really been expanding her diet as she has now come to really like tofu, yogurt, avocado, mango, and chicken with sweet potatoes on top of already really liking most fruits and veggies offered to her. She has been deciding over the last few weeks that she really wants to just feed herself so we've been working on trying to figure out the foods that will best suite a gummy 8 month old. Maddie is also incredibly interested in EVERYTHING that is going on around her. Often taking quite some time to finish her bottle or her breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
We have been so lucky to be having a visit from Auntie Ann and Cousin Olivia from Boston! We have all definitely enjoyed lots of family time over the last several days and look forward to more fun times together while they are here. We surely do wish they lived closer and don't want them to EVER leave! :-)

Happy St. Patrick's Day
We just had to get Maddie all decked out for St. Patty's Day! Even though she is so lovable and kissable, we wanted to make sure she wasn't pinch-worthy!

Miss Independent
Lately little miss Madison has really shown how independent she really wants to be. She barely wants to be held anymore when she is being fed her bottle. She would much rather lay on the ground or sit up while attempting to feed herself with one hand while she is busy playing with the other hand. She also REALLY likes to feed herself her solid food. She has really enjoyed her rice cracker mum-mums but most recently she LOVES gumming on a banana. I am going to have to come up with more ideas of food for her to eat now that she would much rather feed herself than be fed by others. I am very open to suggestions. :-) What a big girl we have on hand!

Flu Shot Booster.
Yesterday Madison was due for her flu shot booster. Apparently they give little ones the flu shot in two doses. My little girl is such a strong princess. She didn't even flinch when the nurse gave her the shot. WAY TO GO MADDIE! I was totally shocked that she had no reaction to it what so ever. :-) The pediatrician felt that it would be a good idea to check her weight while we were there as well. I was sure that she would weigh at least 15 lbs. Nope.....only 14lbs. 1oz. What a little peanut. The pediatrician was not concerned about her weight - thank goodness - as she just continues to follow her 5th percentile growth curve. Now we don't have to go back until her 9 month well-child check! Yippee.

Snowy Day.
What crazy weather we have had the last two days. One minute the sun will be out and the next second the snow is falling. Now that Maddie is a little older, we just had to get her out into the snow again. She seemed to pay a lot more attention to it this time. Several months ago when we had snow she didn't make notice of it at all. Today she certainly enjoyed watching the snowflakes fall and even rolled around in the snowy grass a little.
Playdate with Grady and Lucas
On Tuesday Feb. 22nd a few of my coworkers got together with our little ones for a play date. While the mommies had lunch the kiddos enjoyed eachothers' company and toys! Grady is 10 days older than Maddie and Lucas is a month older than Maddie. Looking forward to many play dates in the future.

She's 7 Months Old!!
Maddie continues to be a GREAT eater - although she still remains very long and lean. She is just going to be our little peanut. Her favorite foods at this point in time are pears, apples, squash, and sweet potatoes. And she ABSOLUTELY LOVES her "mum-mums." When she sees the package coming towards her, she can hardly contain herself. And if mommy is not fast enough she attempts to throw a little temper tantrum. LOL. It is just too cute, but we are definitely going to have to break her of that habit as we begin teaching her manners. :-)
She continues to be a great sleeper both at night time and during nap times. Gives us the chance to be able to get the things done around the house that is needed. She is typically sleeping for 11 hours straight at night and takes a 1-2 hour morning nap and about a 1 hour afternoon nap. She's such a good little girl. We look forward to all that is to come as she continues to grow and develop. I know that I find myself saying this in almost every blog entry, but I just can't believe how time in flying! For now we just need to enjoy EVERY minute of our little girl!
