One Week Check-Up

Maddie was not liking being weighed at the doctors. Although the scale says 7lbs. 7.5 oz. you have to deduct 1 oz for the diaper.

Weight: 7lbs 6.5oz. (25th percentile)
Length: 21 inches (90th percentile)
Head Circumference: 13 3/4 inches (25th percentile)


Madison had her first doctor's appointment today. It was so great to meet Dr. Melanie Roscoe. She was so very kind and made us all feel at ease. Looks as though Madison checked out perfectly. What else would we expect. He, he, he. She now weighs 7lb. 6.5oz. At birth she weighed 7lb 7oz and upon discharge was 7lb 1oz. It is expected that newborns will loose weight and then should be back up to their birth weight by 2 weeks. Looks like we are headed in the right direction. YEAH Maddie!

We were both sad to see Daddy leave for work this morning. Definitely a tough morning, as it's been so nice to have John home for the past week. I know that it will take some time getting used to, but we DEFINITELY missed him today. Thankfully, we ave such AMAZING family support. I just do not know what we would do without them. Thank you so much especially to my mom for all the help you have been over the past week. I wish there was a way that I was able to repay you.

Had to post just a few more pictures from the last two days. Madison continues to be the cutest thing on the face of the earth. Maybe it's because we are a little biased since we are her parents. But here are a few pictures from days 3 & 4.

We finally found the time to be able to upload all the photos that we and my brother have taken over the last few days. It's hard to believe Madison will be four days old tonight. I can see how everyone says how quickly time flies. We have been enjoying every minute to the max. Here are a few photos of our beautiful little girl!

She's HERE!!!

Madison Rose Pepper is finally here! After an attempted induction with no success, Madison was born via c-section on July 20th, 2010 at 1036pm. She weighed 7lbs 7oz and was 20 1/2 inches long with a FULL head of brown hair. Words cannot express the love we have for her already. We already can't imagine our lives without her. Thanks to all of you family and friends for your ongoing support, love, prayers. We will be posting pictures soon. Just got home and are recovering from the long last few days. Hoping for a quick and speedy recovery from surgery. Can't wait to introduce Madison to the many, many people that love her so much! Thanks again!

Tomorrow is the BIG day!

So after having my appointment with my midwife today, we have come to the conclusion that she is just not going to fit out from down below due to my small body frame. Definitely unfortunate in a number of ways, but regardless, tomorrow we will FINALLY meet our little girl!

Will attempt at inducing me tomorrow morning and afternoon and if nothing really happens by 5 or 6 in the evening we will do my c-section. A lot of mixed feelings right now. Disappointed as to the fact that she is not going to fit through my pelvis. Anxious to meet her. Nervous for the surgery. And of course the utter excitement to finally be able to hold and kiss our little princess. Please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers that all goes well over the next 24 hours.

So hard to believe that the time has arrived. In less than 24 hours, we will be parents!

So here we are 4 days past our due date. Madison is just far too cozy inside her little condo. It's beginning to look as though none of the family's guesses for our poll are going to win. LOL. Guess we will have to go off of another statistic to find a winner. Looks like we will have to go by the one with the closest guess for her weight.

We have another appointment on Monday if she has not made her appearance by then. Will be discussing induction at that time. Will be keeping everyone posted. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers!

Ready and waiting!

We are all prepared and just waiting for our little bundle of joy to arrive. Definitely a lot of mixed emotions at this time. Very eager, excited, anxious, and frustrated at having to wait. We know that little Madison Rose Pepper will make her big debut on her own timing.....so for now we will just wait patiently.
